No hunter in their right mind would sight-in their rifle or bow only part way. Nor would they climb just three quarters of the way into a tree stand. To accomplish the desired effect, both actions must be executed to absolute completion. Any hunter who plans to fool a whitetail’s nose needs to embrace every element involved in eliminating human odors.
The idea is to make yourself smell invisible.

The Scent-A-Way 100% System
- WASH all hunting garments – that includes underwear and socks – in Scent-A-Way laundry detergent. Commercial detergents will contaminate clothing with heavy perfumes. Scent-A-Way laundry detergent is odor free. A tumble in the dryer with Scent-A-Way dryer sheets will permeate the garments with the masking odor of fresh earth.
- STOW your freshly cleaned garments in a Scent Safe Bag to prevent contamination by household odors, which is exactly what will happen if they are stashed in the closet, garage or trunk. Avoid wearing your boots for any activity other than hunting. Soles quickly pick ups oils and other contaminants. It’s smarter to keep hunting footwear sealed in a boot bag between trips to the stand.
- CLEAN UP before every hunt with Scent-A-Way body soap, shampoo and conditioner. The antibacterial formula both eliminates and prevents human odors. Of course, Scent-A-Way bath & shower products contain no perfumes or odiferous chemicals.
- PREVENT the return of human odors by applying odorless Scent-A-Way antiperspirant and foot powder immediately after your shower. Odorless tooth paste, breath mints and lip balm provide still more opportunities to eliminate human smells that could alert game.
- NEUTRALIZE residual odor once you arrive at your hunting spot by spraying clothing and equipment with Scent-A-Way Spray.
The spray eliminates and prevents odors at the molecular level. Concentrate the spray on areas of the body prone to perspiration – the armpits, feet, crotch and the headband of your cap. Douse boots from socks to sole to do away with smells you may have stepped in. Erase odors from tree stand steps with a few more squirts. On daylight-‘til-dark hunts, freshen up in the field with Scent-A-Way field wipes or wash towels.
